Pulsating Drop Module, PD 100
The pulsating drop module (PD 100) is a new accessory to the CAM200 Optical surface tension/contact angle instrument. The PD 100 is a module that enables the oscillation of pendant droplets or raising
bubbles by increasing or decreaseing the volume of the droplet/bubble with a piezoelectric pump. By using a controlled perturbation of the droplet/bubble volume one can further determine the rheological characteristics of
different interfaces containing adsorbed layers of for example proteins, polymers, detergents etc. The rheological characteristics of interfaces has found to be important when considering the stability of emulsions.
