KSV Minitrough - Power pack in miniature size

KSV Minitrough is a real power pack in miniature size. Its experimental capabilities and performance exceeds that of many full size LB-apparatuses, yet price being only 1/4 of an bigger system. Full computer control and superb Multitasking Software combined to straight forward precision engineered hardware makes the Minitrough a pleasure to work with. With its interchangeable troughs the Minitrough handles with ease all possible LB-film experiments from pressure/area and pressure/surface potential isotherms, unsupervised LB-film depositions, fluorescence microscopy and spectrum analysis of monolayers to biological applications.

The Minitrough is designed modular in order to meet a variety of application requirements. By variating the configuration of the modules you can build a set-up to fit with your needs. The modules are: Mainframe/Film Balance, Dipper and three different PTFE-troughs (isotherm, dipper and microscopy troughs). Almost any kind of troughs for biological or other  applications are made according to custom specifications. Barrier drives included in each system can be used for both single sided or symmetric compression. KSV Minitrough is available in three basic set-ups: Minitrough 1, Minitrough 2 and Minitrough 3.

 

Minitrough 1

Minitrough 1 is a basic Langmuir Film Balance and capable of all common Langmuir film experiments excluding the film depositions. Upgradable to Minitrough 2.

Standard Module configuration:

+ Interface unit with power supply, computer interface and displays for measuring
   parameters
+ Mainfraim unit with barrier drive and attachment for balance
+ Film balance with a platinum Wilhelmy plate or small round rod by request
+ Trough made of one solid piece of PTFE with 2 Delrin barriers
+ Remote control key pad for operation of the instrument without PC control
+ Software written in C++ compatible with all Windows operating systems

 

Minitrough 2

Unsupervised film depositions can be performed by adding the dipping trough and the dipper to the Mainframe/film balance .

+ Mainfraim unit with barrier drive and attachment for balance and dipper
+ Film balance with a platinum Wilhelmy plate or small round rod by request
+ Trough made of one solid piece of PTFE with 2 Delrin barriers
+ Remote control key pad for operation of the instrument without PC control
+ Software written in C++ compatible with all Windows operating systems

 

Minitrough 3

By changing the isotherm trough of the Minitrough 1 setup to a microscopy trough the instrument is suitable for microscopy applications. Minitrough 3 is capable of epi-fluorescence studies of monolayers and all common Langmuir film experiments excluding the film depositions. Upgradable to Minitrough 2.
